Nocturne: Alone

Dates: 16th February 2011 – 15th March 2011 (from sunset)

Location: Montrose Town Centre  (Cnr Mount Dandenong Tourist Road & Swansea Rd, Montrose, VIC, Australia)

Nocturne: Alone is the first public work by MerryVerso, an artistic collaboration between artist Hermione Merry and filmmaker Nicholas Verso.

MerryVerso create large-scale, multimedia installations that offer a three-dimensional cinematic world, exploring narrative, fostering engagement and providing a step outside the every day. Their work explores the subterranean and beauty lurking beneath the shadows – with a unique luminosity.

Nocturne:Alone has been supported by Yarra Ranges Council Cultural Grants Program.

Created to explore themes of isolation, space, reality and dream, Nocturne. Alone is the first of an ongoing series of Nocturne installations.  It is a gentle play between screen and space through sculpture, light and image, creating a dialogue between the two and three-dimensional.

MerryVerso’s following installation is Nocturne. Forgotten, funded by the City of Melbourne as part of their Arts Funding and will exhibit at Signal Youth Arts Space in July 2011.
